Himachal Pradesh slated to lose 79%-87% of its glaciers by the century-end due to rise in temperature. Environment experts and scientists across the country have expressed serious concern over the impact of climate change. The state centre on climate change, under the aegis of the HP Council for Science Technology and Environment in collaboration with Divecha Centre for Climate Change (IISC Bangalore ) organised a one-day sensitization for policy makers.

Karnataka: Thrice in six days, Kodagu district witnesses tremors

The earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter Scale was reported in parts of Madikeri taluk in Kodagu (Coorg) district and a few areas in Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday. It is the third quake in a week's time in the district, Kodagu Deputy Commissioner B C Satish said.

At least two tremors were felt across the south-western districts of Kodagu and Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday morning. One in Chikkaballapura measured 2.8 on Richter scale and had a depth of 10 km. This is the second such tremor felt in the state in four days as the last one was recorded on Saturday.

Mild tremors felt in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada

An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 was recorded in Sampaje and nearby villages of Sullia Taluk in Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday morning. This is the second time in a span of four days, people of the region are experiencing tremors. On June 25 these villages, situated on the foothills of Western Ghats, experienced an earthquake of 2.7 magnitude.

Discovery in MP throws light on the reproductive biology of sauropod dinosaurs

A team of Indian researchers, for the first time in the fossil history, has discovered an egg-in-egg or abnormal titanosaurid dinosaur egg from the Bagh area in Dhar District, Madhya Pradesh state (Central India) The abnormal egg displays two continuous and circular eggshell layers separated by a wide gap. The microstructure of the pathological egg as well as that of an adjacent egg in the same nest (P7) identifies it with that of titanosurid sauropod dinosaurs.
