Govt to relook BPCL divestment plan post expansion

The government will relook at plans for the divestment of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) post the completion of expansion plans at the company. BPCL was in for a major expansion including the setting up of a petrochemicals complex in Bina in Madhya Pradesh. At current market prices, the government’s stake in BPCL is worth over Rs 38,000 crore.

Start coal imports: PowerMin to states

He has also asked states to lift the entire quantity of coal offered to them by coal companies. Demand to reduce tariff: Regulator asks UPPCL to file report in 2 weeks

Punjab power theft: PSPCL imposes fine of Rs 88 lakh after two-day exercise

The list of violators included religious places, a police station, houses at the Punjab Armed Police complex, and many others. 120 cases of power theft and 464 cases of other irregularities and violations were detected.

UK-based energy giant Shell closes gas stations in Russia amid Moscow-Kyiv war

Shell plans to sell its gas stations to Russian multinational energy company- Lukoil. Shell has stopped selling fuel at stations included in perimeter of deal with Lukoil, TASS News agency reported. Shell Russia's website said that the loyalty program will end on May 20. McDonald’s said it has started the process of selling its Russian business.

Yamuna runs dry, water supply in capital to be hit from today

Water production at Chandrawal, Wazirabad and Okhla water treatment plants (WTPs) had fallen by around 25% on Monday on account of depleting water levels in the Yamuna. The release of raw water from Haryana had also reduced, according to the Delhi Jal Board. Water supply is likely to be affected from Tuesday morning onwards till pond level improves.

Air Travel to Get Expensive as Jet Fuel Prices Hiked by 5 Percent in Delhi

The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has announced a hike in jet fuel prices by 5 percent. The aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices have been hiked 61.7 per cent from Rs 72,062 per kl to Rs 1.23 lakh per kilolitre in Delhi. On Saturday, one litre of petrol in Delhi is retailing at Rs 105.41 per litre, while diesel in the capital city of West Bengal is being sold for Rs 99.83.
