Former Miss Brazil Gleycy Correia died on Monday after a tonsil surgery went bad. The 27-year-old was crowned Miss United Continents Brazil in 2018. She suffered a haemorrhage and heart attack before slipping into a coma in April. Dr Ashish Vashishth, Consultant, Otorhinolaryngology, HCMCT Manipal Hospital, said tonsils are very blood-rich organs.
Gleycy Correia suffered from a brain haemorrhage and a cardiac arrest right after a routine operation to have her tonsils removed. She had been in a coma for 2 months before passing away. Correira often reflected on her destitute upbringing during her childhood and life.
