It is a superfast Express train of the Shatabdi Express category belonging to Indian Railways – Northern Railway zone that runs between New Delhi and Ajmer in India. Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspects New Delhi-Ajmer Shatabdici Express and takes feedback from passengers.
Indian Railways recently issued an order regarding the catering services in premium trains. Passengers who did not book any meal at the time of booking train tickets will have to pay Rs 50 more. The new charges will be applicable on all premium trains including Shatabdi Express, Rajdhani Express, Vande Bharat Express, Tejas Express and Duronto Express.
This initiative has been taken by Indian Railways to do away with the practice of overpricing by vendors at the stations. This facility is included in the fare of tickets on premium trains like Shatabdi Express, Tejas Express, Rajdhani express, and Duronto express.
Balgovind Verma was travelling from Delhi to Bhopal on the Shatabdi Express on June 28. He shared photos of two tax invoices on his Twitter handle. Indian Railways said that if a passenger does not pre-book food, they will have to pay a service charge of ₹50 per meal.
