Border violence: Protesters burn effigies of Amit Shah, Meghalaya CM among others in Shillong

Members of various social organisations in Meghalaya burnt effigies of Amit Shah and Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma among others in protest against the killing of six people in violence at a disputed area along the state’s border with Assam. Some of the protesters reached Polo Hills and tried to burn the effigy outside the chief minister's residence here. Hynniewtrep Indigenous Territorial Organisation also observed ‘Red Flag Day’ on the premises of U Soso Tham Auditorium.

Internet suspension extended in Meghalaya after Shillong violence

Meghalaya government has extended internet suspension for another 48 hours in seven districts of the state. The internet suspension in the said districts will begin from 10:30 am on November 26.
