The first batch of 36 OneWeb satellites was launched from Sriharikota on October 23 last year. OneWeb is one step away from completing its constellation of over 600 low earth orbit satellites. This last launch with ISRO/NSIL will mark over 600 satellites in space, which is the number needed to go commercially live.
The satellites will complete the network of Gen-1 constellation by the UK-based company to provide broadband services. The rocket will lift off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota to deploy the probes.
The privately built rocket took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota. It reached an apogee of 89.5 km, making its owners, Skyroot Aerospace, the first private Indian company to reach outer space. India opened the door to private companies in the space industry in 2020.
