OTT rights for Kabzaa have reportedly been acquired by digital streaming giant amazon Prime Video for a massive amount of money. The film is expected to release on OTT next month.
KabzaaUpendra, Kiccha Sudeep, Shiva Rajkumar and Shriya Saran-starrer gangster drama witnessed the expected drop in the collections. The break up of the collection includes Rs 4.45 crores from Kannada, Rs 45 lakhs from Telugu and Rs 65 lakhs. With 38.95%, the occupancy has also seen a drop from the first day.
Fans have been drawing comparisons with the bloickbuster, KGF. The film was released in 2018 and 2021, respectively, and broke many records. Lead star Upendra said it was a period ‘action drama’ set in the 40s.
The project is led by two huge names - upendra and Kichcha Sudeep. But, Kabzaa saw a rather slow start on Day 1. The total amount now stands at Rs 18.35 crore.
The film failed to register good collections in its home state that is Karnataka. The gross collections of the film are around Rs 8.75 - 9 crores in the home state.
Upendra is returning to direction after seven years with the upcoming film UI. His last directorial was the psychological thriller film Uppi 2, released in 2015.
The teaser of the most-awaited action, drama entertainer of the decade, ‘Kabzaa’ was unveiled by the makers today. The film which originated in Kannada will also be released in multiple languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu & Malayalam.
The teaser of R Chandru’s upcoming film Kabzaa has garnered over 10 million views in 24 hours. The film is said to be a period drama about the rise of gangsters in India.
